12 second experiment

[iPhone] Dudes hangin out on 12seconds.tv

This is my first attempt at using 12seconds on my iphone. My good friends Anthony, David, Mike, Reggie and myself had some fun playing some PS3.

Are there any apps on the iphone that actually can shoot a video?

Bishop McBath at Regent University

My Bishop was recently invited to Regent University to talk about "African Americans and the church." With everything that has been going on in America and with February being Black History month, I think it is very appropriate to take some time and understand the role that African Americans have played and will continue to play in the Church, America and the world!

The talk is about 35 minutes long. Click here to watch it!

After watching it, let me know what you think. What are your thoughts?

Defiance

So I unexpectedly got a chance to see the movie with my brother today and I loved it! I have been wanting to see this movie for quite some time and it was definitely worth the watch. Beautiful story of how a group of Jews survived in the forests when the Nazis tried to destroy them.

There were many lessons that could be learnt and if you are a leader or interested in leadership in anyway this will be a great movie to watch!

If you have already seen it, what did you think about it and if you did not, what are some of your favorite movies?

Don't park here! (Part 2)

Don't park beside your success/achievements.

It is easy to park beside your success because you have reached your goals and hit them on target and the temptation is to just "park" from that point on hoping that things will just go smoothly from that point on but the truth is far from it!

I have had this temptation when it comes to preparing for a talk, leading a meeting, preparing for a test at school etc. Just because the talk went well, the meeting was productive and I got an A on the test does not guarantee that it will happen again!

I believe it is very important to fight against the tendency to just take it easy and get into "parking" mode and just hope that things will go well. The dangerous thing about this is that for a period of time the results might be the same BUT you will never reach your full potential and the team or organization that you are leading will never thrive but merely survive and that is no way to lead! The Bible tell us to lead diligently and getting into the "parking" mode is the opposite on leading diligently.

You can find the first part of this series here

What are some of the ares in your life where you had to fight against the tendency to take it easy and park? What are some of the ways you fight against this tendency? What are your thoughts on this?

Should you have a blog?

Ever since I started this blog a few months ago, I have had some good conversations about blogging. I have been asked why i started to blog and if everyone needs to blog.

Here is what Seth Godin says about this in his book Meatball Sundae.

He thinks you should have a blog if:
  1. You have something interesting to say and the guts to say it.
  2. The people you want to talk to have significant interest in what you're saying and the time and access to your blog to read it.
  3. You are willing to tell the truth.
  4. You can stick with it for months, or more probably years.
Blog are honest communication from one person to an interested, sometimes passionate, always opinionated audience.

So if you answered yes then you might have to start a blog! If you do please send me the link to your blog in the comments section! Happy Blogging!

Update

Hello everybody!

I am still working on improving the blog and moving it to wordpress if necessary but in the mean time I have decided to keep posting here instead of waiting till I get everything is order. Been very busy last few days with school, tests and just life.

So things are still moving in regards to the blog but at a slower pace than I would like so I will keep posting here. Thanks for being patient and still visiting the blog! I really do appreciate it!

Please be patient.

Hello everybody!

Just wanted to let you all know that the reason the blog has not been updated properly in the last week is because I am in the process of redesigning and changing a lot of things here. Since I am not the best when it comes to the technical stuff, I am getting as much help as I can to get this done. So please be patient with me and I will be back in full swing ASAP!

by the way if you have any information that might help me with improving the blog, please do let me know. Thank you very much!

Will be back soon!
